CLIENT NEWSQNX at embedded world QNX will be present at the embedded world 2012 in Nuremberg, Germany. As a thought leader in in-vehicle infotainment and telematics and as an outstanding leading provider of related systems worldwide, QNX is a welcome participant at the world’s largest trade fair for embedded systems. Embedded systems are at the core of connected cars, another one of QNX’s main areas of contribution. Most interesting for car manufacturers, the company will present the QNX CAR 2 application platform; as if that were not enough, QNX will also present a medical demo highlighting the new QNX® Neutrino® RTOS for medical devices (compliant with IEC 62304). Best of CES! QNX drove home from the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas with a Best of CES Award in the Car Tech category. Derek Kuhn, vice president of sales and marketing, QNX Software Systems, remarked that the visitors’ response to the concept car and the implemented QNX Car 2 application platform was overwhelmingly positive: "More than anything else, people wanted to know 'How soon can I get it?'. That's a real testament to QNX Software Systems' automotive vision and to the powerful capabilities of our technology." The platform features an innovative new HTML5 framework that will help enable automakers to keep their vehicles fresh with new content, address consumer demands for the latest mobile apps, and leverage a huge developer community. The QNX CAR 2 application platform is scheduled for general availability in mid-2012.
